VdlP Day 15
Canaveral to Galisteo
Today was a difficult day π© The weather was cold, windy, rainy. hail, sunny…the weather constantly changes on the Camino. 20 miles of rain, mud, hail, inclines and declines! We somehow lost the trail and ended up in a farmers front yard π€·π»♀️ He wasn’t very happy, but gave us wrong directions on how to get back on the Camino. He had 5 big dogs and said if he hadn’t been there the dogs would’ve attacked us π³ Dave couldn’t get a signal that’s how we got lost. We usually rely on yellow markers, but occasionally we don’t see them. Back on the trail we continue on through the rain and mud with bits of sunshine. We had snacks, but no real food. π€·π»♀️ We thought we were going to be able to pick up a sandwich at the place we had breakfast, but the lady said she didn’t have any π€π€·π»♀️ We came across a lot of high water we had to cross, so our shoes were wet and muddy. We were late coming into town…problem with that is, if you don’t get yo a restaurant/csfe/bar by 3pm you can’t eat until 8pm π³ I think the owner felt sorry for us and made us a meal at 6pm. Our little town is called Galistero…it was built in the 13th century and has a fortress surrounding it! Hoping tomorrow is a better day! ππΌ
Thanking God y’all are safe and didn’t get attacked by dogs. So glad your sweet souls attract kind people. Rest up! π
