VdlP Day 17

Oliva de Palcensia to Aldeanueva del Camino

Wow, what a beautiful day!  This is the Camino we were hoping for.  Started off with the owner of our hotel making us coffee/breakfast and driving us to a detour route on the Camino bc the route we were supposed to take had high water and was dangerous.  She was worried about us 🥰 The detour route was amazing!  It was like walking through a park…beautiful trees, cows, storks and wild flowers.  It was sunny and warmer…maybe mid 50s 🤷🏻‍♀️  We were surrounded by mountains and some of them were snow capped. (See pic) It is snowing further up the Camino and that concerns us bc we don’t have the clothes for that type of weather 😩  ❄️ Anyway, it was a lovely walk and the trail was free of mud.   We arrived early and were able to have a nice lunch.  In Spain lunch is the big meal, usually 3 courses with wine, so we are trying to keep up with the Spaniards! But most of the time we arrive too late and the kitchens are closed 😩 until 8pm 🥲😴💤 It is Easter Week, so lots of festivities going on in every town/city, but we can’t stay up that late bc we have to get up early 😩💤  Tomorrow it’s supposed to rain, but today was an awesome day, so we’ll hold on that feeling 😃
