VdlP Day 24

El Cubo del Tierra de Vino to Zamora

It’s been a long day…20 miles of wheat fields, vineyards and wildflowers.  The day started out cold and foggy, but as the sun came out it warmed up.  High temperatures are reached around 7pm here in Spain ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿป‍♀️ so today was 77*.  My feet are very sore, so I didn’t go out this evening ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ‘ฃ  Our VdlP app said we were going to pass 3 towns today that had places to eat, but it was a lie! Luckily, we bought bocadillos (sandwiches) at the grocery store the day before, so we had food in our backpacks.  Food on this Camino is hard to find!  We just wanted a Cafe con Leche, but it wasn’t to be had ๐Ÿฅฒ  Last night, we had a community dinner at our Albergue and met a lot of new pilgrims…Spaniards, Canadian, Japanese, American ๐Ÿ˜ฎ and Dutch.  The Dutch girls just started in Salamanca, so it was their first day of walking and one of them already had 3 blisters!  ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ‘ฃ  I hope they make it.  So, many people have dropped out and gone home ๐Ÿฅฒ  We have met several that told us this was their first Camino ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ฑ  Why they chose this one as their first is crazy…don’t think they knew what they were getting into ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿป‍♀️ Even experienced pilgrims are finding this Camino difficult ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿป‍♀️๐Ÿ˜ฉ  We have another rest day tomorrow bc we chose the big cities for our rest days and it just so happens they are not far apart.  But that also means we won’t have another for a while ๐Ÿฅฒ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿป‍♀️๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿผ‍♂️
