VdlP Day 24
El Cubo del Tierra de Vino to Zamora
It’s been a long day…20 miles of wheat fields, vineyards and wildflowers. The day started out cold and foggy, but as the sun came out it warmed up. High temperatures are reached around 7pm here in Spain ๐คท๐ป♀️ so today was 77*. My feet are very sore, so I didn’t go out this evening ๐ฌ๐ฃ Our VdlP app said we were going to pass 3 towns today that had places to eat, but it was a lie! Luckily, we bought bocadillos (sandwiches) at the grocery store the day before, so we had food in our backpacks. Food on this Camino is hard to find! We just wanted a Cafe con Leche, but it wasn’t to be had ๐ฅฒ Last night, we had a community dinner at our Albergue and met a lot of new pilgrims…Spaniards, Canadian, Japanese, American ๐ฎ and Dutch. The Dutch girls just started in Salamanca, so it was their first day of walking and one of them already had 3 blisters! ๐ฉ๐ฃ I hope they make it. So, many people have dropped out and gone home ๐ฅฒ We have met several that told us this was their first Camino ๐ณ๐ฑ Why they chose this one as their first is crazy…don’t think they knew what they were getting into ๐คท๐ป♀️ Even experienced pilgrims are finding this Camino difficult ๐คท๐ป♀️๐ฉ We have another rest day tomorrow bc we chose the big cities for our rest days and it just so happens they are not far apart. But that also means we won’t have another for a while ๐ฅฒ๐ถ๐ป♀️๐ถ๐ผ♂️
