VdlP Sanabria Way Day 31
Enterpenas To Puebla de Sanabria
What a beautiful walk today! It rained last night, so we knew there would be mud puddles and high water in some areas. But it wasn’t too bad…our shoes need to be cleaned 🤷🏻♀️ We walked through 4 villages and one had an open cafe!!! So we stopped for a cafe con leche and a jamón y queso empanada! After that the day could only get better. 😃 The weather changes constantly on the Camino, the weather forecast said rain for 5 days, but not anymore 🤣 Today was sunny and cool…don’t know what happened to the warm/hot days 😩 Today we walked through forest, villages and rolling hills with Mountain Views! We, unsuccessfully, searched for asparagus as we walked 👣 and are sad that many fruits and vegetables are not in season or blooming. Last year, we saw cherries, almonds, oranges, lemons, watermelon…to many name, as we walked. Today, is Labor Day in Spain, so everything is closed. Luckily, we found a restaurant open and were able to get a meal, and bought a bocadillo for tomorrow’s walk. It will be a long one, so happy we were able to find something. 🤷🏻♀️ This evening we visited The crowning jewel of Puebla de Sanabria the Castillo (castle) built in the mid-15th century by the Counts of Benevente (see pics) and walked around this tiny mountain town. But everything was closed except for the castle.
Wow, look how beautiful! I can’t wait for you to come back and tell us all about your wonderful experiences! Pam
