VdlP Sanabria Way Day 34

 La Gudina to Laza

It was raining when we down to the hotel cafe for breakfast, and it continued to rain ☔️  Not a good night for us bc our hotel had a Cafe that was open 24 hrs, so all night we heard moving bar stools and clanging dishes 🀷🏻‍♀️  It wasn’t the best hotel, but most if not all have been great!  We were tired and cranky 🀷🏻‍♀️  But our walked cheered us up…. the top of the mountain was spectacular, but the rain clouds were low, so we had to wait until they dissipated.  Most of today’s walk was downhill which was a nice surprise!  We came across our first Pilgrim Oasis…it’s a place where weary pilgrims can sit and have a drink and eat a snack for a donation only. (See pic)   They are usually run by religious or volunteer groups.  We arrived at our hotel early, and were greeted with a smile and Coffee by the owner.  She washed our wet clothes and directed us to the town’s restaurant.  We are going to love it here!  At the restaurant, we couldn’t get a table bc it’s Mother’s Day in Spain, so everyone is taking their mothers out for lunch.  So, a man outside the restaurant was cooking and selling pulpo, so we bought a large plate and drank wine πŸ˜ƒ 🍷 Tonight we will get together with some of our Camino friends staying at this hotel.  Tomorrow is a long walk, so we’ll go to bed early 😴
